Are You Losing Motivation?

Losing Motivation?

The question is how do we keep our mind firm about losing weight. The answer to it is that we must be focused on the end goal we established when we began on the program. Suppose a person weighing two-hundred and fifty pounds desires to take his weight down to two hundred pounds,in order to remain motivated,he must stick to the commitment he originally made to drop his weight to two hundred pounds.

I strongly believe in using weight loss related mantras in order to stay motivated. Now the question is what is mantra. It is a constantly repeated saying which will affirm your goals until the mantra becomes a part your belief system. It may be called 'brainwashing', but for thousands of years this is the method which has been used in religion and in education to form strong belief systems and ingrain powerful and useful truths. In spare time I would advise you to constantly repeat the success mantra until it becomes such a part of your system that nothing could stop you from achieving the weight loss goal.

There is another power technique. It involves obtaining a picture of a body which would help representing what your goal is regarding appearance. Every day that picture should be looked at, and I instruct you to spend atleast half hour creating a mental picture of yourelves with this goal body. This technique is called visualization and if practiced with regularity will never fail to keep you motivated.

In order to achieve success in fitness program you must dedicate yourself totally in achieving your goals. Success can be achieved only when a person dedicates themselves unreservedly in the pursuit of their goal.Negative self talks should be strictly avoided; examples: "I have never been able to go more than two weeks on a weight loss diet," or "I will never lose weight," these statements are the exact opposite of the success mantra as defined previously in this article. Success mantras, if diligently practiced, will drown out this type of negative self talks. Negative self talks are considered the number one enemy of program success they must be overcome by diligent practice of the techniques mentioned in this article.

Success is a sure and certain if motivation is maintained and I hope the motivational techniques provided in this article will enable you to achieve success in your weight loss endeavor and keep you motivated.

Is Yoga Right for You?

Yoga exercises can be performed not just to lose weight or maintain proper body weight but also to be healthy emotionally and mentally. Yoga is also known to contribute to the decrease of a number of problems during menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause. There is research to prove this, but the physical, mental, and emotional benefits are easy to see on those women who practice yoga.

Yoga Helps You maintain and cope with a Busy Lifestyle

If you are still undecided or in a confused state about yoga, then there are a number of things about it that will help you decide. One of these is its relevance to today’s world, even though it is one of the most ancient practices of all times.

Yoga is considered as the perfect solution that helps women cope with their busy days and the resulting mental and physical stress. This is especially in the case of working moms who need to deal with the pressures of both work and home.
Sitting behind a desk or even driving a car for several hours every day would result having shoulder and back problems that will not only affect our lives at the office but also at home whilw dealing with the family and household chores, specially for women.

Choosing the Best Yoga is necessary.

You should choose that yoga style which will fit your lifestyle, personality, and needs. Like a working mom's yoga needs might differ from those women who are just working at the office for long hours every day. As such, it is very important to have the perfect Yoga teacher or trainer who has the right knowledge is not only qualified and accredited but also compassionate and sensitive about you really need.

Yoga Styles:

1)Vini Yoga- This is a personal practice that could be developed through the incorporation of meditation, proper breathing, and posture as well as prayer and rituals. The amount of all these aspects that could be incorporated into your yoga practice will have to be changed though as a woman and her needs change and develop. Therefore, if you are still a student or a young professional, then the physical aspects of yoga are more important for you, while older women might focus more on the spiritual, mental, and emotional aspects.

2)Ashtanga Yoga- Also known as the power yoga, this style is known to be flowing and athletic. Breathing is very important in this yoga style as a woman flows through a series of postures. This is able to generate a lot of sweat and body heat, thus helping women detoxify their bodies.

3)Ananda Yoga- This yoga style makes use of temperate poses. This is gently meditative and perfect for those who would like to practice a yoga style that helps them to look inwards so they can focus on making their emotions better.

Fat Burning Cardiovascular Exercises

Fat Burning Cardiovascular Exercises

What is the best form of cardiovascular excercise? The answer for this is different by every individual depending on his physical goals, but a genral answer for this is the best for of cardiovascular exercise is which is the most useful and has minimum risks.

Tody treadmill is one the most popular form of cardio being used in gyms and fitnss centers. Walking on a treadmill on a flat grade risks to minimum injury but minimum reward too. As a result to this few calories are burned and it is too high impact for the uncondioned and obese.Minimum risk is involved in walking slow on a flat treadmill with no grade but also minimum rewars are are gained as it does not burn enough calories to reduce the bodyfat. To increase the efficacy of workin on a treadmill there are two ways, one is to increase the excercise rate;you can run and jogg at will. Running and jogging are tow must excercises when it comes to burning the calories, but these two put a lot of stress on the knees and lower back. The unconditioned, seniors or injured should not follow the running part as it may cause a problem to the joints bones and connective tissues.
The second way is increasing the rate of grade of treadmill which becomes equivalent to walking hill and mountains.Incline treadmill walking is an impactfull calorie and fat burner, but it might cause problems to the ones suffering from lower back, knees or foot issues.
SO it is noticed that treadmills have their merits and demerits.Using thid your main cardio will depend upon any factors like injuries and how much indurance you have.

Another very popular type of cardio being in gyms today is stationary cycling. Stationary cycling had almost the same pros and cons as riding a bike outside. I believe moreover cycling is superior to running and jogging as it burns lot of calories without giving any stress to knees and back that it recieves from jogging and running. However, the stress to the joint and back can be generated by intense cycling.

I prefer the elliptical machine due to its non-impact nature and the huge range of motions. You can adjust the ramp, resistance and speed to target the largest lower body muscles without giving any stress to the joints or the spine. Here, there is a possibility of turning up the intensity level of training with minimum risk to injuries. In short elliptical training is a superior form of cardio.

Excercise to quit smoking !

Excercise has a wide variety of benefits, ranging from betterment of overall health to reduced risk of heart attacks, stroke, and other complications. If you're a smoker trying to quit, its the excercise that will help you stop smoking.

There are number of ways excercise can help you to quit smoking. It's something that will always keep you distracted. When you're focused on exercising, you're not focused on smoking.

Secondly, meditation is also a form of smoking. When you're exercising your heart out, you stop thinking and worrying about everything around. That stress just gets dissolved. You may feel as if you were on a vacation after completing your exercise session. This is the type of stress relief which is healthy and productive, keeping you away from the unhealthy form of stress relief that is smoking. You'll reenter the world with a refreshed perspective, a relaxed mind, and a relaxed body.

Exercise alters the hormones in a way which gives positive effect to your mood. This is how exercise can help you redress symptoms such as anxiety and irritability. If you're not anxious or irritable, you're not much likely to start smoking.

Exercise will help you lose the extra weight, something that many people associate with quitting smoking due to the lack of an appetite suppressant. This can help you build your commitment to quit.
Beginning an exercise program is must in a lifestyle, just like quitting smoking. Exercise can reinforce your commitment to create positive changes in the way of living. The deadly habit of smoking should be replaced with the habit of exercising.

If you are a former athlete who hasn't exercised in years, you may not be able to cope up with what u used to do. Start gradually, and make sure to warmup i.e. to stretch before and after every session. You should start with a warm-up and end with a cool-down.

Make sure the exercise chosen should be enjoyable. If you are adventerous person, then biking or running may be right. If you need to be in front of a TV, seting up a TV infront of your treadmill or elliptical will be helpful. If you like dancing, join a dance class it is also a great form of exercise. Stick with an activity you enjoy and you started with, or you'll get bored and quit.

Mostly if possible, try to exercise with a personal trainer. A trainer can help you design the appropriate and effective exercise program, and can work as a motivator to help you, plus will help you to prevent injury. Or you can even get an excercise buddy. You'll be more likely to go out and do what you need to do if you know your friend is coming.

Whatever type of exercise/activity you choose, make it a habit and stick to it. Be consistent, especially during the first few weeks. The excercise session must be for thirty to sixty minutes at a time, and at least four to five times per week.

What has helped hundreds and thousands of people to quit smoking painlessly is an improved smoking cessation shot consisting of a combination of two medicines that have been around for over a decade and are FDA-approved for indications other than quitting smoking.

Scientifically proven and medically backed, the stop smoking shot has received world wide acclaim, helping thousands of people quit everyday.

How to Shed Excess fat from your body - Bodybuilding tip

Now these people use body building not get strong, but to get fit,to shed the excess fat from the body and to get ino shape.

You will find people planning, working, talking, searching for guidance, tips etc to shed the excess weight of their body.

They want the best body and in the minimum possible time.It is true that even the professional body builders do bodybuilding not to build body but to because they want to look good.

Excess fat is liked by none and it ruins the looks of an individual.

Working to shed the extra fat makes you look good and also has an advantage that your health improves a lot.

Here are some ways how most gym goers work.

The fact is, to lose all the fat it's not just as simple as exercising consistently.

While exercising can help you reduce significant amount of fat, the real key to lose the excess pounds and to get into shape lies is a combination of doing the CORRECT exercises and having a corresponding perfect diet.

Yes that's the fact. Now its on you if you want to lose a lot of excess fat in less time, you need to follow it.But if you are ok with just simple simple excercises still i would recommend you to have the correct diet.

It is possible that you could work all day in gym and still not lose enough fat as you want because of the incorrect diet.I have even witnessed people gaining weight after joining gym because their diet gets increased and they eat what is not suggested to them.

It takes knowing the right things and doing them consistently to make a difference. If you want to do it,do it with full commitment else dont do it.

First let's start with exercise.

Simply lifting some weights or doing some aerobic exercise, may help you to some extent, but it is not sufficient to get rid of fat in less time.

One of the best fat burning exercises in existence is called HIIT.

It stands for High Intensity Interval Training and it is used by professional athletes and sportsman of all types to get into awesome cardiovascular shape as well as get their bodies into ripped physical condition.

The principle is simple, you simply exercise at intervals that consist of about two minutes of light to medium intensity aerobic exercise followed by about 30 seconds of all out intense exercise.

This is the equivalent of jogging for about two minutes and then sprinting for 30 seconds. That would represent one interval and you repeat these intervals until you complete about 6 to 8. Because of the intensity, most folks cannot handle this type of training early in their regimens.

It is only after months of seriously intense aerobic exercise that you can begin these workouts.

Once you do though, you will see fat fall off you more quickly than anything that you've tried before and your body will stay in this fat burning state for 10 hours after the exercises have been completed.

The next area is nutrition of course. Many folks try calorie and nutrient restricted diets to trim fat and end up trimming muscle instead.

You see, your body is designed to use a combination of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in such a way as to maintain proper functionality, consistent levels of energy, and consistent or increasing levels of muscle.

When you take anything out of that equation it can disrupt this balance and lead you to experiencing the opposite results of which you wish to achieve.

If you focus on eating a diet that is high in protein, followed by fats and carbohydrates, you can continue to have the energy you need and nutrients your muscles need to continue to grow and maintain your physique.

In addition, as long as you are burning off these calories and not eating excessively then you should be able to maintain consistent fat loss.

What is Bodybuilding?

Whenever you hear the word bodybuilding, an image of a man having huge muscles covered in oil or sweat and wearing only tiny bikini briefs comes to your mind, but that only a few of us achives, who commit to the dedication and determination it takes to get bodies into that huge state.

But the fact is, anyone can be benefitted from the principles of bodybuilding both from the aspect of how you look as well as your overall health.

Bodybuilding is simply the process of building muscles and losing fat to accentuate the overall musculature of your body.

Not everybody of us can build a huge and bulky hulking body by just lifting a few weights for a few months. It takes years of intense dedication hard work and hours of grueling workouts per day to achieve the physiques of those you see standing on stages, not to mention the occasional illegal chemical helper as well.

But just going to your local gym and deciding to build your body doesnt actually means that you need to achieve that bulky huge shape and sized body, its a great idea to get a good physique, and it will lead you to an increased sense of satisfaction and a healthier longer life as well.

Bodybuilding exercises are simply any exercise at all that will allow you to build muscles or to increase your strength of a part of body or to improve your weaker parts.

These can be performed by any human, but it depends on several factors like age,and gender etc. Some excercises are meant for some specific people,if you want to do them, you need to first develop your body to be able to tolerate the pressure that body goes through them and this means that anyone can do any excercise !

Push-ups, for instance, are an incredible bodybuilding exercise that will allow you to build the muscles of your chest, triceps, and shoulders.

Of all the bodybuilding exercises in existence, squat is known to be the king of the excercises. Performed by lifting a barbell on your shoulders and squatting down until your thighs are parallel with the ground and then rising back up, the squat is known as a compound movement.

The entire body mucles can be build through it,it helps build muscles of lower and upper body as well.

It takes extreme physical determination to squat with heavy weights but the payoff can be huge.

Squats are also a great way of burning the fat. Combining squats with push-ups and perhaps even pull-ups can provide you all the bodybuilding results you need to get into incredible shape and totally transform the look of your entire body.

Now if you are strating to build a bodybuilding routine you should pay attention to your diet as well.Diet plays an equally important role in building your body. It almost seems senseless to work hard to build big muscles, and then cover them up with thick layers of fat. You want to eat a diet that contains plenty of lean protein and is lower in fat and carbohydrates. These last two nutrients are important for energy, but you want to limit them to avoid excess fat gain.

Now what are you waiting for if you havent started or excercise regularly, plan a schedule for yourself, include excercise in your daily routine, anyone can build and get in shape, its not that doing excercise is tough, its that doing it consistently is tough.

So plan it nicely before you start and get involved in it with sincere dedication and commitment.

Best 3-Minute Abs Excercise to get 6 pack abs

This article tells how to get better six packs in the smallest time duration possible, in only 3 minutes.I have compeiled these ecxercises after a lot of interactions with various gym trainers. You could try different abdominal exercises with the following method but i recommend to do 3 lower abdominal type exercises back to back.
Now whats the difference in this and several other tips available on internet? Jus try it once, the amount of pressure it puts on ur abs will surely answer you.
During this ciruit, you will get a lot of burn in your six-pack, it is more difficult and beneficial for working the abs then the standard approach of doing a set and resting and repeating.

This is what to do:

Exercise No.1 for 30 seconds

Exercise No.2 for 30 seconds

Exercise No.3 for 30 seconds

Do not give any gaps between the excercisies and repeat them once.

Move immediately from exercise 1, 2 and 3 and repeat them all making sure there are no gaps of rest.
This is a real hard work.A great way to tone or shape up your body or to reduce fat, whatever you want.

The 3 exercises I like to use are:

Exercise No.1 - Leg Lowering

Lie face up on the floor and your hands must be underneath your low back. Rest on your elbows and forearms so your head is off the floor, During the set your upper body should remain in this position alltime. Now straighten you legs out and slowly try to lift your legs off the floor.Remember to lift your legs slowly. Try to lift your legs around 2 feet high above the floor and then return and lower them down slowly but don't touch the floor on the descent with your legs. The aim is to lift your legs up and then down without making a contact with the floor for 30 seconds.

You must keep pressure on your hands throughout the set, ensure that your low back at all times stays in contact with your hands. If you feel your back arching bring your tummy in towards your spine. If you find it difficult try bending your legs a little.

Exercise No.2 - Reverse Crunch

This time lie on your back with your head on the floor and arms by your side. Bend your knees so your feet are as close to your hips as possible. Now slowly lift your feet off the floor and make sure that your thighs are vertical. This position is the starting position for every rep; don't start each rep with your feet on the floor.

From the start position gently roll your low back off the floor and try to bring your knees towards your chest. When you reach the furthest position you are capable of achieving pause for a second before returning to the start position. Repeat for 30 seconds.

Exercise No.3 - Knee Push

The start position of this exercise is same as that of the reverse crunch exercise. Lie on your back with your head in contact with the floor during the set. Keep the feet off the floor and thighs in a vertical position.

The aim of the exercise is to push your knees up towards the ceiling. Depending on the strength of your abs will determine whether your butt leaves the floor or not. You are striving to push your knees around one inch upwards, that is enough distance to work the exercise properly.

Keep the head and upper body as relaxed as possible during the exercise, this will make your abs work more. The tempo should be moderate and there shouldn't be any bouncing. Repeat for 30 seconds.

Don't forget when you have done the 3 exercises in a row go back to the first and repeat them all so you get a 3 minute workout.

You could do this workout at home, at the gym, in the office, hotel room, on the balcony, on the beach or outside in the park. There are no limitations with this workout.

How to achieve good health?

Achieving health and maintaining healthy is a never-ending process.
To achieve good health, people should concentrate on following factors.

Physical health

The first and foremost is the physical aspect,it means maintaining the physical body. All the professional sportsmen stres on this factor a lot in order to achieve success in their career.
Well everyone should stress on this factor because its the base of the health, body is the system through which a person interacts with the external world.
As every persona interacts with the outside world differently has different climatic conditions and surroundings, this factor is very varied and depends on each person differently.
Even people with similar working conditions should maintain their body differently as it also includes the genetic factor. Each person is different from one another, and its only you who can study you own body better than a doctor.
You know the strength and the limitaions of your own body and you should try and improve your strength and decrease the limitaions.

Achieveing a good physical obviously includes good physical activities that make your body work. The human body is so made by god that its the the best thing in the world that can adapt to different situations if worked on nicely.
The human body is so made that it adapts changes in itself very easily as compared to other organisms. You wont find any other animal living in -20degrees celsius to +45 degree celsius. You must have also witnessed this with the people around you.The man who was considered an underdog 2-3 years ago is one of the strongest man around you now.
Physical fitness or good health includes cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, stamina and flexibility. It also includes several other factors like sexual health and correct amount of sleep.

Mental health

As defined in wikipedia "Mental health is a term used to describe either a level of cognitive or emotional well-being or an absence of a mental disorder."
The World Health Organization defines mental health as "a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”
It includes the way the people think, handles stress, work around, find new ideas and plans for different things,as well as make good decisions and at the right time. Mental health also include the ability to cope with the problems in day to dat to life and thats how meantal health is linked to the social life of the person.
Mental health is something that no doctor can improve, you need to work for it on your own.The best ways to to have a good mental health to have a strong and healthy social life along with motivation to do what we want to do.People must be able to locate their source of motivation and should to remove their weakness i.e. their weird behaviour towards unexpected things.

Social Factor

As mentioned social factor is very much responsible in maintaing mental health.
Personal health depends partially on the social structure of one's life.
The maintenance of strong social relationships is linked to good health conditions, longevity, productivity, and a positive attitude. This is due to the fact that positive social interaction as viewed by the participant increases many chemical levels in the brain which are linked to personality and intelligence traits.
Even after being physcially and mentally fit social factor make people behave diffrently and affect their lives a lot more than personal health and mental health do.

Hygiene

It involves all the activities to keep body clean to prevent from infections and diseases.Hygiene practices include bathing, brushing and flossing teeth, washing hands especially before eating, washing food before it is eaten, cleaning food preparation utensils and surfaces before and after preparing meals, and many others

What is health?

What is health?

Now ever wondered what is health? what is fitness? what is being healhty means?
Well if you ask the same question to 10 different people,I am sure u will get atleast 7-8 different answers and you will agree to all of them.
So now what does health includes? Are all the people correct or some of them or none?
If you ask a footballer,he will say health means being fit and active enough to play 90 mins of football and if you ask a basket ball player,he/she will say it means being fit enough to make long jumps and being quick and energetic. And if you ask some yogi of India,he will connect it to some spirituall thing and will add
some yoga excercises to it and will stress on the flexibility, and inner strength of the body.

Well health as mentioned in wikipedia is as follows,
"Health is the general condition of a person in all aspects. It is also a level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of an organism, often implicitly human."

At the time of the creation of the World Health Organization (WHO), in 1948, health was defined as being "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity"

Now by that what do you think? does that means you should be able to run a lot or play a lot or that you stomach should protude out?
Its the general condition of the body,it includes everything of you body,an average size or fat person may not be regarded as healthy but a thin person maybe healthy.According to me a person being healthy means the body should support what a person wants to do and when he wants to do and to avoid
falling ill.Yes now that doesnt mean that you can run, walk, jump so your healthy, but it means at every point of time and place you body should be able to do every work that is required, work just doesnt include physical. It includes mental work too.Despite staying not ill it also includes managin stress also.

Overall health is achieved through a combination of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, which, together is commonly referred to as the Health Triangle.
Well according to me,i prefer to achieve general health more over being specific to certain areas as professionals do.The common man must maintain all the aspects of health.

What is HEALTH?
Health is not perceived the same way by all members of a community including various professional groups
giving rise to confusion about the concept of health.
"Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing and not merely an absence of disease
of infirmity".

Health is multidimensional i.e:
1. Physical Dimension
2. Mental Dimension
3. Social Dimensio
4. Spiritual Dimension
5. Emotional Dimension
6. Vocational Dimensional
7. Others

1. Physical Dimension

The physical dimension of health is probably the easiest to understand. The state of physical health implies
the notion of "perfect functioning" of the body.
The signs of physical health in an individual are: " a good completion, a clean skin, bright eyes, lustrous hair
with a body well clothed with firm flesh, not too fat, a sweet breath, a good appetite, sound sleep,
regular activity of Bowels and Bladder and smooth, easy, coordinated bodily movements

2. Mental Dimension

Mental health is not mere absence of mental illness. Good mental health is the ability to respond to the many
varied experiences of life with flexibility and a sense of purpose.
Pyschologists have mentioned the following charecteristics of a mentally healthy person:

a. Free from internal conflicts i.e he is not at "war" with himself.
b. Able to get along with others.
c. Searches for identity.
d. Has a strong sense of self-esteem.
e. Knows himself i.e knows his problems, goals etc.
f. Has a good self-control-balances rationality and emotionally.
g. Faces problem and tries to solve them.

3. Social Dimension

Socail wellbeing implis harmony and integration within the individual, b/w each individual and other members of society
and between individuals and the world in which they live.
Socail health is rooted in "Positive material enviornment" and "positive human enviornment" which is concerened
with the social network of the individual.

4. Spiritual Dimension

Proponents of holistic health believe that the time has come to give serious consideration to the spiritual dimension
and to the role this plays in health and disease.
Spiritual health in this context, refers to that part of the individual which reaches out and strives for meaning
and pupose in life. It include integrity, principles and ethics, the purpose in life, commitment to some higher being
and belief in concepts that are not subject to "state of the art" explanation.

5. Emotional dimension

Historically the mental and emotional dimensions have been seen as one element or as two closely related elements.
Mental health health can be seen as "knowing" or "cognition" while emotional health relates to "feeling".
Experts in Pyschobiology have been relatively successful in isolating these two seperate dimensions.

6. Vocational Dimension

The vocational aspect of life is new dimension. It is part of human existence. Te importance of this dimension is exposed
when individual suddenly lose their jobs or faced with mandatory retirement.

7. Others

A few other dimensions have also been suggested such as :

a. Philosophical Dimension
b. Cultural Dimension
c. Socio-economic Dimension
d. Enviornmental Dimension
e. Educational Dimension
f. Nutritional Dimension
g. Curative Dimension
h. Preventive Dimension
